We offer you a varied selection of plans to suit all audiences, in a city as international as Barcelona, the options are immense, we make you a different proposal.
The magic hour in the Monestir de Pedralbes
The Pedralbes Monastery opens the doors of its cloister to celebrate the Magic Hour. From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., every Tuesday and Friday –until September 13– you can visit this space of calm and tranquility for free, considered one of the largest cloisters in the world.
Founded in 1327 by Elisenda Montcada and inhabited until 1983 by Poor Clare nuns, the Pedralbes Monastery is an icon of Catalan Gothic architecture. The building revolves around its cloister (considered one of the most spacious and harmonious examples of the style due to the three floors that make it up), where the nuns retired for personal recollection.
Greek Festival
For lovers of the performing arts and for all those who simply want to enjoy first-class theater shows, the Grec is a must. It will bring together 86 works in 55 shows in the city.
It opened on June 29 and will feature gems such as Safo, directed by Marta Pazos, Christina Ronsenvinge and María Folguera; An interior image, from The Count of Torrefiel or the stage poem Ofèlia (Panic Attack) by Àlex Rigola.
Outdoor cinema
The cinema and the summer. This year everything returns many of the cycles that had to be canceled last year and some new ones are added. You can find the billboard with all the proposals in this link.
The ‘cinema a la fresco’ has become one of the great attractions of the Barcelona summer night. And it is not surprising: lying down to look at the stars while enjoying a good movie is not a bad plan at all. We highlight the fact that the screening is held in the gardens of the Monjuïc Castle, high above the city.
It opened on July 1 with an icon of cinema, Pulp Fiction, and throughout the month it will screen everything from classics like Belfast and Death on Your Heels to recently released films like Licorice Pizza and Coda.
Drive-in
And if you want a cinephile proposal from the comfort of your car, be sure to visit the drive-in theater. Random and scheduled sessions are held in a town in Barcelona, Vallirana. It should be noted that the capacity is 55 cars, each vehicle has its delimited area where once parked it could take advantage of a different afternoon.
Pedralbes Gardens Festival
This festival is another of the great musical events of the year. It is located in these beautiful Diagonal gardens, next to the Palau Reial metro stop, and without a doubt the location is one of the reasons for its success edition after edition. An old mansion and large green spaces are the stars of the magical nights of this festival, which this year brings together Simply Red, James Blunt, Patti Smith, Blaumut, Jorge Drexler and The Beach Boys, among many others.
Dinner at the Observatory contemplating the stars
Dinners with the Stars, organized by the Fabra Observatory, is one of the essential events of the summer. It is a proposal that mixes scientific dissemination with a suggestive gastronomic proposal. An evening that consists of a dinner in which you can choose one of the various menus, from more to less gourmet, and in which you can then enjoy astronomy in an exceptional way. You visit the museum, the room from the beginning of the 20th century and the steps telescope. You can also enjoy a popular science conference.
