New academic article on the choice of the main production companies in the film industry between adaptations of pre-existing material and the creation of a completely new film, carried out in collaboration between two EUM professors and a researcher from the Department of Business, a former student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
The prestigious academic journal Profesional de la Información has published in its issue 32(2) (March 2023) the article entitled “Adaptations versus original film premieres trends in broadband society: a comparative analysis” (https://revista.profesionaldelainformacion.com/index.php/EPI/article/view/87081), written by Professor Dr. Joan-Francesc Fondevila-Gascón, Professor Dr. Gaspar Berbel Giménez and the researcher of the Department of Business Cristian Blanco-Cosano, former student of the Degree in Marketing at EUM. The main objective of the research carried out is to empirically understand what differences there are in the choice of the main production and distribution companies in the industry between adapting pre-existing material or creating a completely new film, as well as the benefits of adaptations, and concludes that, despite the fact that this practice is quite common in the sector, it has not increased in recent years.
