Communication in equestrian events
New academic article on communication in equestrian events, carried out in collaboration between three EUM teachers and a researcher from Blanquerna Ramon Llull University.
The prestigious journal Cuadernos.info has published in its issue 60 (January 2025) the article entitled “La comunicación en los eventos ecuestres: análisis de la publicidad previa, la retransmisión y su cobertura posterior” (https://cuadernos.info/index.php/cdi/article/view/84280), written by Professor Júlia Alabart Algueró, Professor Dr. Óscar Gutiérrez Aragón, Professor Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila-Gascón and Blanquerna Ramon Llull University researcher Professor Dr. Joan Cuenca-Fontbona.
The main objective of the research carried out is to analyse the perception of the stakeholders of the equestrian sector regarding the communication strategies before and after the equestrian events and concludes that, although younger people and those who participate professionally tend to be more satisfied with the publicity before and after the equestrian events, the general satisfaction is low, so it is necessary that the sector implements improvements to increase the efficiency of its communication campaigns.
This study not only shows the importance of optimising communication strategies for equestrian events, but also highlights the need to adapt messages to different audience segments. Digitalisation and the use of new platforms can be key to improving the dissemination and impact of these events. Furthermore, the research opens the door to future initiatives that allow for a greater professionalisation of the sector, contributing to greater visibility and recognition of equestrian events at national and international level.
