
How is Ibiza perceived as a tourist destination?
New academic article on the perception of Ibiza as a tourist destination, carried out in collaboration between three EUM lecturers and a researcher from the Department of Business, a former student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
Publication in a scientific journal
The academic journal El Periplo Sustentable has published in its issue 48 (January-June 2025) the article entitled “Perception of Ibiza as a tourist destination for residents, tourists and potential visitors” (https://rperiplo.uaemex.mx/article/view/24723), written by Professor Júlia Alabart-Algueró, Professor Dr. Óscar Gutiérrez Aragón, Professor Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón and the researcher from the Department of Business Mar Valderrama-Guasch, a former student of the EUM Degree in Marketing.
Aim of the study
The main objective of the research carried out is to provide a comprehensive view of the perception of Ibiza from different perspectives, that of local residents, tourists and potential visitors, with the aim of understanding the emotions aroused in each group, differentiating those of high season from those of low season.
A relevant contribution to the emotional analysis of tourism
This study represents a valuable contribution to the analysis of tourist destinations from an emotional and experiential perspective. Understanding how different audiences perceive Ibiza, especially in different seasonal contexts, allows tourism and marketing professionals to fine-tune their communication and positioning strategies.
