ONLINE CONFERENCE OF THE EXPERT IN LOGISTICS AND GEOPOLITICS THOMAS VIGUIER AT THE ESCOLA UNIVERSITÀRIA MEDITERRANI
Online conference of the expert in Maritime Transport, Geopolitics and Arctic International Law Thomas Viguier to the students of the Degree in Business Logistics (Dual) of the Escola Universitària Mediterrani, a center attached to the University of Girona.
Despite the confinement, at the Escola Universitaria Mediterrani we continue with our policy of attracting experts to share their professional experience with the students of the Degree in Business Logistics (Dual). For this reason, last Thursday, April 30, the first-year DBL students were able to attend an online conference given by the expert in Maritime Transport, Geopolitics and Arctic International Law, Thomas Viguier, based in Iceland, from where he shared his experience in the Navy Merchant and in maritime logistics. Viguier has explained to the students the role of maritime transport in the global logistics chain and what global maritime networks are like. Viguier strongly emphasized the importance of maritime safety and risk management, analyzing the consequences for logistics operators and for the viability of companies engaged in shipping. The conference has been highly celebrated by the students of the Degree in Business Logistics (Dual) who have been able to see first-hand the importance and weight of the maritime sector in the distribution of goods.
This conference is part of the design of the subjects of the Degree in Business Logistics (Dual) of the Escola Universitària Mediterrani, which introduces the participation of experts, not only as teachers, but also promoting the organization of presentations, conferences and seminars focused on the area of study of this university degree, as well as the co-direction of Final Degree Projects and their participation in the implementation of the offer of dual professional internships in companies in the sector.
